We all have 24 hours in a day and seven days in a week. But have you ever wondered how other people do multiple things successfully where you are stuck on one in the same amount of time?
Do you know the difference between DUPLICITY where underachieving operates and MULTIPLICITY where super achievers operate? One constrains and the other releases your inner God given power. One is the Will of God for all of us and the other the tool of the devil that sequesters your gifts
Listen and learn how to unlock the Divine container filled with your freely God given gifts and talents.
Knowingly or unknowingly some have discovered the key. It’s available to all humanity without restrictions.
In this episode we will show you the basic Bible scripture keys, and how to Pray With Impact to obtain them.
Tune in and expand your horizons.
Thank you for listening in and now let us expand your horizons for what you are able to do with your dormant gifts within you already. Remember Jesus told us the parable of the talents? When we don’t use them they lay dormant and could be taken away and we then think we never had the. It doesn’t matter how late you begin, the Bible says that God’s gift are without repentance. You can reclaim them. Age is no barrier either. Caleb was 85 years old when he went to Joshua to claim his God given gift. He said that God kept him alive and was here to claim his possession God promised when he was 40 years old.
God had created us with the ability to do multiple things and has gifted us so there’s a division of labor in our community of humans. He has variously gifted each of us with knowledge and and abilities to accomplish this goal. Another good Bible example is in Exodus, as we shall see, when he instructed Moses to build the tabernacle. He reminded Moses that with His gifts come His Spirit.
First let us define some terms:Duplicity
We shall start with the term duplicity, we need to take it out of the picture because it is counter to the giftings of God. Despite this though, a lot of people live their lives in duplicity leading to the sequestering of their God given gifts.
Dictionary definition of Duplicity: I will quote the Marion Webster dictionary which says,
‘How to Remember What Duplicity Means
The idea of doubleness is at the core of duplicity. Duplicity comes from a Latin word meaning "double" or "twofold," and its original meaning in English has to do with a kind of deception in which you intentionally hide your true feelings or intentions behind false words or actions. If you are being duplicitous there are two ‘yous’: the one you're showing and the one you're hiding. And—key to the idea of duplicity— that you in order to make people believe something that's not true.”
The Apostle Paul chastens Peter about this duplicity in Galatians.
Galatians 2:12-13 NLT
“When he first arrived, he ate with the Gentile believers, who were not circumcised. But afterward, when some friends of James came, Peter wouldn’t eat with the Gentiles anymore. He was afraid of criticism from these people who insisted on the necessity of circumcision. As a result, other Jewish believers followed Peter’s hypocrisy, and even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy.”
The power term we want to keep in mind throughout our discussion today is MULTIPLICITY
Multiplicity: In regards to our podcast theme, we could say that we are a system of body, soul and spirit created with a multiplicity of gifts. Let us look at this from a simple technological point of view. I will take a quote from our website. In the early 2000 we were honored to volunteer and offer an after school program computer training in website building and set up in one of our local public schools. Now imagine yourself as the computer endowed with all this power but yet underutilized.
This is the partial quote from our website, www.africhrist.com tech page:
“A computer is a complex tool that makes our tasks easier, quicker and much more productive. Computers are like a vehicle that takes us from point A to point B moving ideas from conception to fruition a lot quicker. Like the workings of a motor vehicle, most people do not need to know the detailed mechanics of computing such as writing code.
Computers are delicate tools and the software applications that run them are precise and predictable when mastered”
Computers can perform multiple functions at the same time which we call multitasking (multiplicity) or one task at a time precisely as programmed. We are the same, the Bible says he knew us before we were formed in our mothers' wombs and our days numbered.
Dictionary Definition of multiplicity: the quality or state of being multiple or various
: consisting of, including, or involving more than one
: the number of components in a system (such as a multiplet or a group of energy levels) similar to computer chips that run your smart phones, computers and many other appliances that form our modern ecosystem.
Of these scriptures we shall use some as foundation theme scriptures to paint a clearer picture on our discussion we will see:
1. The goal is not how much you do but how much you please the Lord: 1 Corinthians 10:31, Colossians 1:10
2. God’s plan for you: Jeremiah 29:11
3. Divine driving power 2 Peter 1:3 , Exodus 31:1-4,6
4. Uncovering your gifts 1 Corinthians 2:9
5. The rest as foundational scriptures
The main goal is to please God which leads to your growth
It’s not the abundance of gifts, but the obedience that pleases God. The Bible says that obedience is better than sacrifice. The parable of the talents is a good example in expectation.
1 Corinthians 10:31 NLT
“So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
Colossians 1:9-10 NLT
“So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.”
This is God’s own Divine plan, so have no fear
Jeremiah 29:11-12 NLT
God’s Spirit is the power behind is every Divine gift
“as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,”
Exodus 31:1-4, 6 NLT
Uncovering and Discovering your gifts is a promise of God
1 Corinthians 2:9 NLT
“That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.””
Psalms 139:14-16 NKJV
Proverbs 29:25 NLT
“Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the Lord means safety.”
Fear of what people think of your gifts, could bury your gifts and push you into duplicity, as you try to please them rather than God
Duplicity in leadership
In the scripture below, we see an example of Duplicity in leadership, similar two what we see today in politics.
Ezekiel 8:12 NLT
Plan with confidence
“Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.”
Duplicity leads to hypocrisy
Diligence bears fruit
2 John 1:8 NLT
“Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked so hard to achieve. Be diligent so that you receive your full reward.”
Highly esteemed
Even if people won’t show it
Acts 5:12-13 NKJV
“And through the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were done among the people. And they were all with one accord in Solomon’s Porch. Yet none of the rest dared join them, but the people esteemed them highly.”
The church is God’s plan to display his wisdom in all things
Ephesians 3:9-10 NLT
“I was chosen to explain to everyone this mysterious plan that God, the Creator of all things, had kept secret from the beginning. God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.”
Through scripture, God’s Wisdom is exposed to us
This exposure as relates to our discussion, is good. It cuts through all the cobwebs of confusion .
Hebrews 4:12-13 NLT
“For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.”
The faith we walk by
The faith of trust in God moves by going without knowing. It is powered. Not by what you see but by if you believe in God the promiser
Hebrews 11:8 NLT
“It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going.”
II Corinthians 5:7 NKJV
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
Genesis 12:1-4 NLT
“The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.” So Abram departed as the Lord had instructed, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he left Haran.”
